Outside play is essential to growing well-rounded children. It is the key to further develop communication, cognitive skills, creativity, and physical skills. This training will dive into the areas of growth, how outside play can promote grown in those areas, and ideas to connect outside play to further learning in the classroom.

Promoting an Active Learning Environment for Spirited Children (11.2)
This training outlines the challenges teacher encounter with spirited or strong-willed children. Strategies are provided to create an effective relationship, develop language, and gain an understanding in why these children respond in certain ways.

Creating Opportunities to Expand Fine & Gross Motor Skills (4.4)
Fine (small) and gross (large) motor skills develop naturally in most children – however, teachers and parents must not assume that development is automatic – children need assistance and practice to hone their skills. Key points addressed include: what are fine and gross motor skills; developmental guidelines; and examples of fine and gross motor activities in the classroom.

Enhancing Motor Skill Development (3.3)
Many children today do not seem to have enough motor development opportunities to promote skills such as crawling, hopping, skipping, etc. As a result, this training is designed to enhance development of these skills. Key points include: tips on adding purposeful movement; advice on adding steady beat timing; and outlining specific gross and fine motor activities.
